                                                                                                     Free Squidoo Banners

If your a Sqidoo Lense Owner like me then you are probably having a difficult time getting visitors to your lense. That's why several weeks ago I created some banners from some Squidoo graphics that I found on the web. If you see one you like **right click once** on the banner and then download it.

Here are the banners:

My lense (460x60)

mylense

lense right (468x60)

lenseright

left blank (468x60)

right white blank

orange (468x60)

pink (468x60)

black (468x60)

Hopefully you've found one or more of these banners useful.

If you want to make your own banners there's two ways of doing that.

If your one of those people that don't like installing a lot of software on your compter you can use a live cd that contains a copy of GIMP.

The easiest live cd to use that comes bundled with GIMP is Teen Puppy Linux:

http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=18537

There are many other live cds that come with GIMP.

Here are some sites that will give you some information on what live cds are avaible:

Live Distro.org

Live Debian Cds

If you download the cd image then you'll want to burn it to cd or dvd. You can find a cd burning program at one of these sites:

Nonags CDR Utilities Pages

http://www.snapfiles.com/Freeware/gmm/fwcdburn.html

Note: *Unless you're using Teen Puppy* which allows you to save your sessions to a hard drive *any work you do within a live cd environment will not be saved. Once you exit a live cd **you will loose all work that you have created.** Therefore it's a good idea to upload any banners you make to a online file store or image storing site before quitting your live cd session.

Build a web page and then put your lense inside of a embedded iframe:

http://www.webreference.com/dev/html4nsie/

http://www.cs.tut.fi/~jkorpela/html/iframe.html

http://www.w3.org/TR/html401/present/frames.html#h-16.5

http://www.ddj.com/184412304

http://htmlhelp.com/reference/html40/special/iframe.html

http://msdn.microsoft.com/workshop/author/dhtml/reference/objects/iframe.asp

http://www.cs.tut.fi/~jkorpela/www.html

http://www.w3.org/TR/html401/struct/objects.html

And if your using a traffic exchange site then you don't want visitors to simply "fly by" your page.

Add this html code to your pages to make sure that visitors see your site.

<a href="http://www.this-is-my-lense-spalsh-page.com" target="_blank">Click Here To open this site in a new window.</a>

It produces the following link: (note: clicking on the link will take you to my Squidoo Lense)

Click Here To open my squdioo lense (Opens New Window)

And build your splash page here:

http://www.1webspace.biz/

http://www.fateback.com/

Now with all of these tools you should be able to make your own Squidoo graphics and splash page.
